Aloha E Komo Mai
We are a diverse group of people who enjoy getting together in a supportive environment to practice our communication and leadership skills. We meet once a week for a fun-filled hour packed with opportunities for personal growth and development. Whether you want to practice your business presentation skills, overcome a fear of public speaking, develop your leadership abilities, communicate with your children, or learn how to lead a meeting, Toastmasters can help. Best of all, you found us. We're waiting for you to come and visit.
Visit The Hilo Toastmasters Club as often as you like. If you like what you see and hear, (and we're sure that you will!), ask for a membership application at the end of the meeting. Dues are very reasonable at $45 for six months. When you first join, there is a one-time $20 fee that goes to Toastmasters International for your new member kit, manuals, and a subscription to Toastmasters Magazine, chock full of helpful articles on public speaking, leadership, humor, business presentations, etc.
Involvement Since you're joining and paying the membership fee, you'll want to become active in the club. We will show you how. We know that family and work come first. If you have a conflict for a meeting (work deadline, vacation, etc.), let the Toastmaster know as soon as possible so someone else can fill your role for the meeting. Maybe you can help someone else out in return.
Mentorship Experienced members are happy to act as your mentor. They will help you understand the various meeting roles, give you help with your speeches, and help guide you toward your goals. We all want to support one another.
